Experienced Management. Experience breeds knowledge. That is especially true in the service business where we must not only repair compressor parts - but also solve problems for customers in so many different applications. We are proud, and consider ourselves fortunate, that we have a great wealth of experience and knowledge throughout our organization. In fact, we have over 150 years of experience in our upper management alone. Jack Thompson was hired in 1969 to start the Odessa repair facility. Jack came from the Snyder Venture compressor valve repair shop in Houston, Texas. Except for a three year period in the late 1970's - Jack has been with H&S Valve since. He was elected to the Board of Directors in 1987 and has managed the Odessa repair and manufacturing facilities from their inception (1969 repair, 1981 manufacturing). Jack is currently overseeing the El Reno, Oklahoma and Longview, Texas repair centers. Gary Weaver began working at H&S Valve, Odessa in the summers while attending high school and college. He began full-time in 1975 upon graduation from West Texas State University. In 1978, he transferred to Corpus Christi to start the repair shop there. Gary was elected to the Board of Directors and became part owner in 1979 and has been an intrinsic part of H&S Valve expansion both in company size and knowledge. His presence in Coprus Christi is indicative of our commitment to staff each facility with expertise. Rick Southard followed in Gary Weaver's footsteps, working at H&S Valve, Odessa through high school and college during the summers - until hiring on full-time in 1976. Rick was promoted to Corpus Christi sales manager in 1981 and plant manager of the Weatherford repair facility in 1985, until returning to Corpus Christi in 1995 to become technical adviser for Gary Weaver. Danny Azlin joined H&S Valve in 1979 as a salesman in Corpus Christi. Except for a brief hiatus to work with his family business, Danny has worked for H&S Valve since. He was promoted to sales manager in Corpus Christi in 1985 when Rick transferred to Weatherford. He was promoted to Weatherford plant manager's job when Rick transferred to Corpus Christi in 1995. He started the Longview repair center in May 1999 and is the plant manager. Byron Harrison began with H&S Valve in 1980 as a salesman having worked for the City of Odessa after graduating from Texas Tech University in 1974. Byron left in 1982 to become partners in a company repairing and manufacturing compressor cylinders, rods, pistons and miscellaneous parts for the oilfield - then rejoining H&S Valve in 1988 as a salesman. He was promoted to the Odessa branch's Sales Manager in 1989 and H&S Valve, Inc. General Manager in 1990. Les Littlejohn went to work for H&S Valve in Odessa in 1978 as a salesman. Les left LTV Aerospace having worked as an industrial engineer for four years after graduation from Michigan State University in 1974. He transferred to Corpus Christi in late 1978 and became Sales Manager in 1979. He became the Plant Manager of the Weatherford repair facility in late 1981. In 1985 he became the General Manager of H&S Valve at the home office in Odessa, Texas. Byron was promoted to his position in 1990 when Les became President, CEO.
